We have all come to expect the newest models of smartphones to come with an incredibly powerful camera. With the improvements to the camera, devices are also coming with standard photo-editing software. While we’ve seen a vast improvement in the quality of photos, it’s still not always as we’d like to be able to produce the photo we imagined. Sometimes the image turns out darker then expected or maybe the colors look dull and lifeless in comparison to other images. If you’re like us and shooting for better and brighter photos (no pun intended ), we have a few app suggestions that can help you out.
These suggestions are coming from Christina, one of the many creative people on our team. She’s been with us for about 4 years and this tech-savvy gal has a lot to share about photo-editing apps. Let’s dive in!
Lightroom CC for mobile.
First up, Lightroom CC for mobile. This app offers the most professional editing options and allows for the most details customization of images. It includes a profession camera, several customer filters, and comprehensive editing tools that I’ve come to expect only to find only on a Mac. It helps organize photos and provides interactive tutorials to help you learn what to do with them.

Afterlight – Photo Editor.
Afterlight – Photo Editor comes in strong at second place. It provides some basic photo editing tools along with a few other unique features, such as color overlay, selective color, and selective saturation. This gives the creative freedom to produce some super funky images. Bonus points for this app because it’s so user-friendly!
Last (but surely not least!), VSCO not only allows you to edit your photos, but it also has an option to create a profile so you can share your work with other users. The VSCO “Feed” offers a ton of inspiration from other users and connects you to a community with the knowledge to help develop skills. If you like Presets, this is the app for you!
There you have it! Three great apps that will help you take your photos to the next level. With some practice, you’ll be able to produce photos that you’re proud of and excited to share with family, friends, and (of course!) on social media.
